Every other Saturday morning, I roll my weary body out bed and head to a local farmers market to work with Cathy, a fellow blogger friend of mine. She roasts the most amazing Bavarian Nuts right in her booth. They are are glazed with cinnamon and vanilla. They are sweet, crunchy and out of this world!
I love arriving a few minutes before the market opens. It's quiet, peaceful.
The smell of fresh cut flowers and kettlecorn
the sight of beautiful plump berries, juicy peaches and luscious heirloom tomatoes
the sound of bluegrass, jazz or folk music from local musicians...
I feel alive.
Others arrive early as well, eager to fill their baskets with edible treasures.
The bell rings at eight o'clock. The market is officially open for business.
Plates of hearty biscuits and gravy, fresh berry crepes, warm sweet scones and spicy breakfast burritos drift past.
Baskets are filled to overflowing with a bounty of goodness.
We blissfully carry our treasures home, day dreaming of the delectable tastes and textures that await.
Simple pleasures are the sweetest.

I too love early morning farmers markets...so peaceful!
The farmer's market in the morning is the best! It must be so much fun to work there!
I've never been to such a lovely market...what fun!
gorgeous photos kim! just love those blue berries and strawberries - such vibrant and healthy colours!
I would have loved those berries!!!
Great pictures! I'm hungry just looking at them!
Terrific photos, Kim. The early morning is my favorite time at the market too. We had a very good day yesterday, not too busy until about 10:00 am, and then, holy cow, we were swamped.
Nice Kim! I know that feeling you described-it's so nice to feel that way in the early morning. Oh, and so neat that you have a booth at the Farmer's Market...!
Beautiful narration with your photos! Love them all
Beautiful pictures....I want it all!!!
Wish I lived close to this market! I think I would get up early and go there!!!!
Your photos are gorgeous, Kim! I feel like I could reach in and grab the beautiful produce. We are birds of a feather, I could happily spend all day at the farmer's market too! :)
What gorgeous pictures and even better commentary! It looks like a great place to spend a Saturday morning.
I usually head to the farmers market early on a Saturday morning..this Saturday I arrived later and sttod in line for some of the best summer peaches and even for my favourite Saturday breakfast a crepe from la Creperie.
I know what you mean. The farmers' market makes me feel alive too. it definitely must feel so peaceful and rejuvenating first thing before everyone else gets there. Love all your pictures.
Working at the market must be a total joy! It looks like you have an especially nice farmer's market!
You're the second post I've read this morning about the farmer's market :) I guess it's a sign that I must get to the nearest one! I'm missing all the yummy action!
aaah-mazing!
those photo made my tummy rumble!!
There is nothing like a good Farmer's Market. It's where I do my best judging.
Those sound AMAZING! Again I lament over the lack of farmers' markets in Tampa!
I LOVE going to the farmers market! Love seeing all the pictures, thanks!
Kim, beautiful pictures of the farmers market...
I love roasted nuts. It's the only reason I go to gun shows.
I love your description of early mornings at the market. I am not fortunate to have a large market near me, but we do have a few fruit/vegetable stands.
I too love getting out and about in the early mornings. You would be amazed at what you could see if you lived in the country where I live.
Your photos look beautiful and make me wish I was there!
