Oatmeal Toasted Almond Cherry Raisinets Cookies...and a giveaway!

I was asked recently if I would like to try a sample of the new Nestle Cherry Raisinets. Of course, I let out a big WOO-HOO and replied...YOU BETCHA!!

DSC06930

These are so scrumptious and since they are made with cherries and dark chocolate they are packed with antioxidants, so I don't even have to feel guilty eating the whole darn bag! ;)

DSC06944

I thought it would be fun to put my Cherry Raisinets into a cookie!

DSC06943

My cookies also have whole wheat, oats and toasted almonds. They are bursting with goodness!

DSC06942

The kids and I are having trouble not gobbling them all down in one day!

DSC06938

Just look at that face! I had to keep an eye on the furry cookie stealers, too!

Oatmeal Toasted Almond Cherry Raisinets Cookies
by theUngourmet

Print recipe

makes about 3 dozen

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 3/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour
2 cup quick cooking oats
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup toasted sliced almonds
8 oz of Nestle Cherry Raisinets, roughly chopped

In a small bowl whisk together the flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl with an electric hand mixer beat butter until creamy. Add the egg, vanilla and sugar and beat until well combined. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture stir until combined. Fold in the almonds and Cherry Raisinets.

Bake on a parchment lined baking sheet at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes. Allow to cool on a wire rack.

These are crunchy, chewy, sweet...and just plain delicious!

I've been informed that I can give away ten 4 oz. bags of these for sampling! If you would like to enter to win, please let me know in your comment. Extra entries for tweeting, following me on twitter (theungourmet), following The Ungourmet on FB and blogging about the giveaway. Let me know in separate comments, please! I will keep this open thru Sunday 3/28/10. I will then tally up the comments and draw 10 numbers from my hat. Make sure you leave me your email address so I can contact you if you win. Just found out that winners need to be inside US. Sorry about that!

Oh and BTW, I only received the free samples and gave a favorable review because I liked the product. (I think I have to say this now because of the new FTC laws.) Did I do it right??? I hope so.

Cherry Raisinets sound absolutely delicious! Especially in a cookie. What a cute dog!

Julia said...

Goodness Kim why do you do this to me? I think you have made a personal goal to torture me in the most mean and evil ways. *sigh* This combo is mouth watering...

And I am on day five of a new diet to reduce overall caloric intake (not necessarily banning any particular food. Just eating less).

I guess I will have to make an exception and make these and be very good limiting myself to ONLY one a day.
