Are those pear pancakes?

Why yes, as a matter of fact these are pear pancakes! Grab a plate, there are a couple more just about ready!

Oh, and here, put a bit of yogurt on top. Don't forget to drizzle some honey over it all as well!

Take a bite! So, what do you think? Pretty good right?!

Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 tbsp dark brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp oil
1 large egg
1 cup low fat milk
1 cup ripe pears, peeled and diced
butter for frying

plain yogurt
honey

In a medium sized bowl combine the dry ingredients. Add the egg, oil and milk. Stir until smooth. Fold in the pears (or drop a few onto the batter after you have it on the griddle like in this photo).

Place a bit of butter on the griddle and place about a quarter cup of batter on grill for each pancake. Flip when edges begin to bubble and dry slightly.

Remove from griddle and serve hot with a dollop of plain yogurt and a drizzle of honey.

Tastes like autumn to me!

No, Kim, you can't do this to me. I just got up and you're serving these on your blog ;) If I had a private charter I'd be at your place in no time

Those would in fact taste like Autumn. Berries are great, but pear and apple season really is where it's at :)

Yowza that looks good. And I was just given a bag of pears off the neighbor's tree!

I like putting yogurt on my toaster waffles. I put a dollop of yogurt and a mini dollop of apple butter - the perfect combination of crunchy, sweet and creamy.

Perfect brunch item. I gotta make some this morning. I have no pears though, I'll replace them with blueberries. I'm so excited it looks so goood!

Mmmm...pears in pancakes? I've never even considered these together. I've been pancaking with pureed bananas and cinnamon lately, but I think I might have to give this a try tomorrow morning!

THE UNGOURMET SAVES THE DAY!

I have company this weekend and got the troops rallied for pancakes, only to find that I was out of mix. (I'm a class-act, what can I say?) Anyway, I came right to your site because I remembered this recipe, and you know what? It's so delicious, even subbing out pears for blueberries.

Thank you, Kim!
