My Grandmother's Quilt Squares

These are my grandmother's old quilt squares. I have been trying to decide what I want to do with them. What do you think? Should I frame some? Should I make pillows? Should I make a lap quilt? I have never tried to make a quilt, but I wouldn't mind trying my hand at it.

Oh how special! I'm torn. I think you should either do a lap quilt. As talented as you are, I'm sure you could figure it out. Or I like the idea of framing them. I think that would be really pretty. Can't wait to see what you do!

I vote for QUILT! Totally. But 2nd would be the picture frames. Pillows get destroyed at least at my house so I would not do them. Maybe you have tamer children and pets.

I vote for the quilt, those squares are incredible, and imagine the incredible-ness (that's a new word now) that would come from you finishing your grandmother's quilt. WOWOWOW. Stellar. Gotta do it! So beautiful.

Neat! My mom is a quilter and she put together a quilt that had been just in "squares" state since the late 30's! It turned out pretty cool.

You should absolutely frame some of them! I've seen this done with large, simple matting and solid frames. The result is very dramatic with a contemporary-ish edge but the spotlight is all on the square...

I was asking my mother a little more about these and she swears they were my great-grandmother's. I am going to try to find out for sure. That would mean they are older than I thought. Wow! It would be nice to find out more of the story on these!
