anniversaries and buttermilk cakes

DSC05821
Did you know that this is a very important date in history? Oh, yes. Seventeen years ago today I said "I do". There have been plenty of ups and downs over the years but I have to say the ups have far outweighed the downs and we are still happily chugging along on this train called marriage.

This morning as I was looking back at last year's anniversary post, I spotted this scrumptious post for Mini Buttermilk Cakes with Pomegranate and Lime. These were lovely! I decided that they were most definitely worth posting a second time. Pomegranates are so festive and gorgeous. I am looking forward to getting some holiday baking going. I'm thinking of baking some pumpkin bread pudding over the weekend.

Are you baking anything yummy over the weekend?

Have a terrific Saturday! I think I may be enjoying some delicious Thai food for my special day.

Happy Anniversary!

I can see why you wanted to give those another try, love how the color just makes you want to gobble them up. Or...eat them daintily off a fork...depending on if people are watching you or not. ;)

Baking...well...I roasted some peppers just now and THAT was delicious. Had them on homemade bread turned toast. I love the convenience of most foods but slow food has SUCH flavor.

Happy Anniversary Kim! Wonderful event to celebrate. I hope you got some thing nice from your husband too! Or even some kind of cooking that you did not have to do yourself. :)

Happy Anniversary Kim. Ours is on the 8th. It's the best decision I've ever made.

Love your anniversary cake and I know the pomegranates must make it very special.

Yum, Kim! These buttermilk cakes do look kind of perfect (smile). This is the kind of stuff I get a little crazy over during the holidays. I try not to have regrets about food though. I can always hop back up on the wagon;-)

These buttermilk cakes sound glorious. I have been severely lacking in the pomegranate consumption lately!

Happy Anniversary, KIM!! It's always inspiring to see how couples who have been married for more than 5 years continue to chug along and love each more than they ever thought possible. And of course, as you have realized I'm sure, the way to a man's undying love is through his tummy! ;) I can't wait to try your buttermilk cakes when I get back to base. I just love it when pomegranites (which I clearly can't spell) are in season and LOVE finding recipes that use them. I'll let ya know how it goes! I hope your anniversary was perfectly lovely and here's to another year of wedded bliss!
