flowers, flowers and still more flowers

Recently I had the opportunity to assist with catering a floral shop grand opening. The owners were lovely and put together a gorgeous bouquet of flowers for me to bring home.

Don't you just adore hydrangea? I sure do!

These next few shots are roses from my yard. It's been a tough spring for roses around here with all of the rainfall. Hopefully things will dry out for a bit.

I was working at the farmer's market yesterday and brought my camera along but when I went to take my first photo, I discovered that my memory stick was missing. Oops!

Oh well, next time.

What the Bee Is To the Floweret by Thomas Moore

What the bee is to the floweret,
When he looks for honey-dew,
Through the leaves that close embower it,
That, my love, I'll be to you.

She. --

What the bank, with verdure glowing,
Is to waves that wander near,
Whispering kisses, while they're going,
That I'll be to you, my dear.

She. --

But they say, the bee's a rover,
Who will fly, when sweets are gone,
And, when once the kiss is over,
Faithless brooks will wander on.

He. --

Nay, if flowers will lose their looks
If sunny banks will wear away,
'Tis but right that bees and brooks
Should sip and kiss them, while they may.

I'm thinking of baking up some yummy brownies for a bbq we are heading to today. I want to make good use of some awesome cinnamon and vanilla samples I received in the mail the other day. Stay tuned!!

These are beautiful flowers! I adore each of them for their unique characteristics. I like the mums for the density of its spiny petals, the hydrangea for the cute button flowers, and the roses for their stunning elegance.

Oh they are soooo beautiful. I do love hydrangea. Reminds me of Cape Cod where we vacation every summer. I love flowers. Wish I knew more about them, and that I could garden without killing them all.

Lots of yummy love,
