A good for you white bread

As a participant in the foodbuzz tastemaker program I have the opportunity to try many new and delicious food items. This time around it's Wonder's new Smart White. As I was putting together a perfectly fabulous PB&J, I had some childhood flashbacks.

You see, I wasn't one of the fortunate ones. I had to endure yucky whole wheat bread while most of my friends were chowing down on soft, stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth PB&J's on white Wonder bread. I was white with envy! Life can be so unfair!

I suppose my mother felt that whole wheat was more nutritious or something silly like that. ;D

Well, move over whole wheat bread! There's a new Wonder bread in town. Wonder Smart White. Each serving has five grams of fiber and as much calcium as eight ounces of milk. It's a great source of nine vitamins and minerals such a iron, vitamin D and folic acid and has 33 percent less sodium than regular white bread.

I really enjoyed the soft texture and mild flavor of this bread. It's perfect for a good ol' PB&J, grilled cheese or any other sandwich favorite.

I'm giving this new Wonder Smart White a thumbs up!

Thanks foodbuzz and Wonder!

P.S. Now that I am all grown up, I'm all over the whole wheat as well! :)

We definitely had tons of Wonder bread when I was a kid..and to be fair I actually like whole wheat PB+Js better. But I'm weird. Glad to see they have come out with a quality product though!

Oh, the gummy white bread of my youth! I love that Wonder has managed to hide some fiber and nutrients in there--hooray for progress! Because that first turkey sandwich after Thanksgiving? HAS to be on squishy white bread.

Some things just have to have that soft, sticky bread to be at their best: PB&J, balogna and processed cheese, that sort of thing. I still like these old fashioned sandwiches.

My mom never bought wonder bread. She would only by rye :P or wheat. Still, I learned to love them.
*kisses* HH
p.s. few things are as delicious as a simple peanut butter and jelly sandwich. As a matter of fact, I could go for one right about now...

I buy the new wonder bread all of the time, love it.
I use to buy sourdough, it makes such a good panini or toast, but my husband would say....Can't we just have some normal bread? (he meant soft white) ha
Now we are both happy....Good Job Wonder!!!!

I was actually lucky enough (or maybe unlucky?) to have parents that only ate Buttertop White Bread. I do remember having to gag down PB&J sandwiches in school when I forgot my lunch money though! YUCK! I love how they have healthy and yummy bread now!

Nothing better than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich:D I bet I eat one at least 3-4 times a week!

I grew up on Wonder white bread bread. My kids grew up on wheat! Except when there was egg salad - I don't know why - but it has to go on white. Going to try this new wonder of wonders breads.

I'll see your whole-wheat bread and raise you to homemade, unevenly cut, whole grain, multigrain all together way too healthy PBJ. It was down-right embarrassing! No one would ever trade!
