On top of spaghetti...

Doesn't this movie look like a fun one?! We can't wait to see it!

I don't remember ever making meatballs until I started this blog. For some strange reason I thought they would be difficult to make and that they would take too long to cook. Boy was I wrong. They are quick and easy, just perfect for both the ungourmet and gourmet alike! You can fancy them up or keep 'em simple. It's up to you.

I chose to keep it fairly simple.

Ingredients

1/2-1 lb spaghetti cooked al dente

1 lb ground turkey
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tsp minced garlic
1 egg white
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tbsp fresh chopped basil
1 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp cracked pepper
1/2 carton of creamy tomato soup, about 2 cups or so (I used Trader Joes brand.)
1 tsp dried oregano

Place all ingredients into a large bowl (except for the pasta, soup, and last tsp of oregano). Mix well and form into 10-12 equally sized meatballs.

DSC05002

Pour soup mix and oregano into a large saucepan and stir. Carefully place meatballs into pan. Cover and cook on medium heat carefully stirring occasionally until meatballs are cooked through.

DSC05003

Place on top of cooked spaghetti pasta. Sprinkle with Parmesan and fresh basil if desired.

These is a super meal for a busy weeknight. Give it a shot, I know you'll love it!

I usually like to put little baby meatballs on my "psssgetti" (that's how I used to call it as a kid. lol)

The only time I ever make spaghetti and meatballs is around Christmas time. I don't know why, but that's how it's always been for me. Almost like tradition.

This week I'm house-sitting for people who raise cattle so they have a LOT of hamburger in the freezer - I think I'll give this one a try! :)

And now I have that song stuck in my head! :P

Drat, I am on my way to call it a day and I am yearning for meatballs and spaghetti. Is that fair?

I think the lesson we learn is not to look at good food after midnight.

They really are easy and delicious to make, aren't they. I also add some bread soaked in milk, so they are really soft and delicious.
One thing though you won't find in Italy, is meatballs served with spaghetti, other types of pasta yes, or separately as the main dish.
I feel, too, like my crativity and willingness to try new things has improved since I started blogging. That's cool, right?

Never thought to put soup mix in the meatballs. Bet it added great flavor. Wonderful idea and very nice meatballs!

Looks really easy, I have only made meatballs twice I think, one time I made them stuffed with mozzarella. I was going to do spaghetti bolognese tonight, but I think I'll do this.

Looks tasty, I was just thinking that I should make meatballs for my son this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration!

Your meals are always so mouth-watering! I love meatballs but minced turkey is uncommon here unless it's near to Christmas. Chicken would be my substitute for this recipe.

I never think to make meatballs either. They are so pretty on a plate. And its fun to prepare old standbys in a new way.

I need to get off this computer and go eat lunch because this post just put me over the edge - I think you could make a piece of cardboard look good!!! I agree about the meatballs - not hard at all. In fact, I line mine up on a cookie sheet and bake them in the oven - super easy, quick and they all get the same amount of done. That probably doesn't even make sense. I need to eat. LOVE the recipe, girl ~ ♥

Meatballs are about the only way I like to use ground turkey! My grandma always dropped them raw into the sauce and cooked them all day... mmmmm! The house always smells soo yummy when you do that! (She used the stove, I use the crockpot!)

I have never made meatballs for my spaghetti. I guess that ground beef as is....cooked and crumbled is just too easy? I really should do this in the very near future.
