Eight is Great!

Today we celebrated my son's 8th birthday. This morning he said, "Mom, I'm so excited I feel scared!". I understood exactly what he meant. Haven't we all felt this way at some point? How about on your wedding day? Maybe a first date? Finding out you're pregnant with your first baby? The first day at a new job?

It blows me away sometimes just how in touch children are with their feelings. They just lay it on the line. Tell it like it is. They don't ever worry about how it will sound to others. I dig that about kids!

My kids love to put my SIL up to a cake challenge each year. This year my son's request was a Mario Cake. My son is doing his best Mario impression in this photo!

My MIL and SIL put this cake together. It is just amazing!

Let's take a look at every side shall we?!

I think they should go work with Duff!

Now for a little present opening!

My son is a Lego lovin', Mario playin', Star Wars fan!

He just adores Hoops and Yoyo too, but who doesn't right!

He is also master of the surprised look pose!

Happy 8th my little man! Mama Loves! ;0)

Awesome, awesome cake! I love Mario! Yes, I'm 29 and I still play Mario. Kids are really intuitive, and it's a shame that as we grow up, we lose the ability to be in touch with our feelings. We can learn so much just by watching them!
