Honey I Love My Peaches Grilled!

I am just a grillin' fool right now! Since my air conditioning isn't working I don't even want to think about turning on my stove or anything else that might create heat (vacuum cleaner or clothes dryer). Actually, it's getting me out of a lot of housework and who doesn't love that?

I made everything on my grill tonight. Dinner was Chicken Pasta Alfredo with garlic and zucchini. And then for dessert I grilled some peaches and served them with vanilla bean ice cream. It was simply terrific, just the kind of dessert I love.

This is so easy!

You will need just this short list of ingredients:

2 or 3 ripe peaches
1/2 tsp rum extract
1/4 cup of honey
1 tsp cinnamon

Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

Wash and slice peaches. Place peach slices on aluminum foil and drizzle with the honey and rum extract, shake on the cinnamon. Wrap it up tightly and grill on medium heat for about 1o-15 minutes until peaches are tender.

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. This is such a terrific dessert for summer. Give it a try!

~Yum! Yum!~

I would love to know what your favorite summer dessert is. Please share!

Oh my goodness...your air conditioner isn't working while we're experiencing these temperatures with "excessive heat warnings" attached to them?!

Those peaches look SO good. I had some vanilla ice cream with fresh raspberries and chocolate sauce for my dessert tonight - not bad but I like peaches better. :D

Peaches with vanilla ice cream is one of my favorite combinations. I think I need to make some peach pie. Or this.

Perfect - grilled peaches and vanilla ice cream are a great summer dessert! I've gotten some local nectarines the other day and we've been having nectarine milk shakes, our new favorite dessert.

As much as I love chocolate, there is something sooo yummy about warm, cinnamony fruit with cold vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmm! :-D

Forgot to say my favorite summer dessert - probably strawberry shortcake. Mmmm! :-) Although, an ice cream sandwich always hits the spot, too!

You definitely sold me on this one with the hot grilled peaches and the melting vanilla ice-cream on top! I wonder..what abt froyo on top for the extra tartness against the sweet? Mmm! And a sprinkle of nuts!

Whoa! Those really look (and sound) wonderful! I have three favorite summer desserts, strawberry shortcake, peachy chiffon (my mom's recipe...I hope to post soon) and my Aunt Lita's Peach cake (lots of butter and very gooey). I love that it's peach season. : )

This is such a delightful dessert. Sometimes we tend to look for complicated ones but really, the best is from those simple unassuming recipes like this one. I will surely try it very soon :)

That you're even cooking is a miracle - I'd be using the phone or making reservations somewhere cool. But...I must say - I wouldn't mind if you made that for me.

Just love it! On my way home I'll get some peaches and I'll treat myself with the grilled peaches and vanilla ice cream...yummie!

How did you make pasta on the grill??

And no AC? I would die.

I don't have a favourite summer dessert. I am waiting for the heat wave to break so that I can make a dish with black berries and some other berry (my brain is fried in this heat).

I feel your pain. We have had zero luck finding a free standing portable air conditioner -thankfully we were able to find a couple of floor fans to ease us through the next week.

I have recently added your blog to my "food bloggers worth following".

This is soo perfect to top off that pasta.

Its too bad about your airconditioner. Here, we are having heavy rain as I am reading your post.

Let's see what is my favorite summer dessert? I do really enjoy any kind of a berry crisp made with fresh berries.

Grilled peaches are spectacular. Now, if I can only keep them around the house till evening to do this - just mouth-watering and summery.

Wow!!! You are really getting popular! I almost had to take a number to leave a comment (that's a good thing!)

You know I have 50 bazillion pounds of peaches... We've been eating them plain with a little cream, but I think I can handle this...

YUMMO! I think I'll have to get some peaches tomorrow.

I've been wanting to bake some bread but it's been so hot.

I do have to have some cookies on Sunday...guess I'll be cranking the AC.
