Heavenly Treasures

I have been thinking about the words to the song, I Wanna Be Rich, by Callaway (See Friday's post). I started thinking about the uncertainty we all face right now due to the economy of our nation. It can cause great fear and stress for us each and every day. We worry about our families, our homes and our retirement. In the USA, we are all about who has the most money the most possessions. People are viewed as more important, more intelligent, more valuable as human beings if they obtain wealth. We can find ourselves at times losing sight of what is really important in this life. I remembered the verse, Matthew 6:20. (This is from the People's New Testament) "Lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven. This is the only way to save our wealth. It is a positive precept. Our wealth must be consecrated to God and used as His work demands. Wealth used for doing good is treasure laid up in heaven". I know how hard it is to not focus on what we gain down here, but I really want to try and remember that the best is still yet to come.

Have a nice Sunday and thanks for letting me ramble a little today! :0)

Great thoughts today! I think it is so easy to get distracted by the things of the world and lose our focus.

Thanks! Have a wonderful Sunday!
