This is one cookie I would actually let my kids eat for breakfast! It's packed with whole wheat flour, oats, raisins, dark chocolate chips and Strober Farms Golden Flax Seed.
I was super excited when Strober Farms contacted me about sampling their Golden Flax Seed. Flax seed is packed with Omega-3's, fiber, lignans, and protein.
Most of us have heard of Omega-3's. These are essential fatty acids which are essential to human health.
High fiber diets help in the prevention of heart disease, cardiovascular disease, and Type 2 diabetes. Fiber also plays an important role in constipation relief and overall colonic health, reducing the risk of colon cancer.
Lignans have been shown to prevent hormone-dependent tumors such as colon, breast and prostate cancers. Research has also found dietary flax seed lignans reduced several menopausal symptoms.
Flax seed is high in protein and has an excellent amino acid profile, containing numerous essential amino acid that the human body cannot produce. The protein found in flax seed is a significant benefit to vegetarians relying solely on plant sources to meet daily protein requirements.

ooooh those would be perfect for breakfast! But then, I'm a sucker for raisins and dark chocolate.
So...I'm the FRG President for my husband's army unit. The FRG Pres is generally responsible for raising money for the FRG for family functions. Well, last drill I brought doughnuts and coffee and sold them for 50 cents each. I almost didn't make my money back because so many soldiers were "watching their weight." I am TOTALLY going to make these cookies for next drill assembly and watch the money pour in. Thanks for posting!
